SHO, 10:00 pm ET, Devin Haney vs Xolisani Ndongeni. ShoBox kicks off for 2019 with what may well be Haney’s last fight on the series, at least if he’s successful. The 20-year-old lightweight prospect isn’t in easy on paper, as Ndongeni is 25-0 (13 KO) and looking to make a mark himself. He’s built that record in South Africa, but he is 1-0 in the States, too. The undercard features featherweights (Ruben Villa vs Ruben Cervera) and heavyweights (Frank Sanchez Faure vs Willie Jake Jr). BLH will have live coverage.
Sunday, Jan. 13
FS1, 8:00 pm ET, Jose Uzcategui vs Caleb Plant. This is an interesting main event matchup, the first PBC on FS1 card of their new deal, with the aggressive Uzcategui defending his IBF 168-pound title against the stylish Plant. On paper, it’s a fight that should go the way of the man who can impose his will and dictate the pace and tempo of the fight. I mean, that could be said about any fight, but I think you get what I mean. If Plant can box, Uzcategui will have problems. If Uzcategui can force more of a fight, Plant will have problems. The card also features Brandon Figueroa vs Moises Flores in a featherweight fight. And did you know “Ghost Dog” Allan Green is fighting again? Well, he is, and he’s facing Ahmed Elbiali in what is Green’s second fight and his first serious opponent since 2013. BLH will have live coverage.
